Bienvenidos.  Welcome to Señora Grant-Richards's website.  Watch this spot for my newsletter describing what we are learning and doing in the Spanish classroom, and upcoming cultural events.  Take a look at my links for additional Spanish practice.  The Ven Conmigo link has extra activities, for extra credit.  The "Coffee Break" Spanish link will help you practice speaking and understanding, and the Best Spanish Web Sites are interesting.

In 7th grade, we are currently studying the Spanish speaking world, learning to greet each other, identifying cultural differences, and getting our Spanish speaking names.  We will soon begin learning marine life vocabulary and things to do at the beach. We are also learning to identify classroom objects, follow classroom instructions, and ask questions in Spanish.  The students are playing a game called El Español, where they can earn letters to spell "El Español" that go towards winning a prize by speaking Spanish with the teacher outside of regular class.

In 8th grade, we are quickly reviewing the first week, and then starting to conjugate verbs!  We are also learning about the Spanish speaking world. We are playing a game called El Español, where students can earn letters to spell "El Español" by speaking Spanish with the teacher outside of regular class.  The points go towards winning a prize. The class will next start another game, La Caza de Tesero, (Treasure Hunt), that reviews concepts, each group will compete to gain a key that just might open the treasure chest.
